Teaching & Formation
The Teaching & Formation Team develops, executes, and leads all teaching efforts at The Avenue (i.e. Bible studies, breakout groups, Children’s Church, etc.). Through written, audio, and visual elements, members structure lessons that are Bible-based and focused on increasing discipleship and biblical literacy. Members work with the Pastor and Executive Ministry Team to ensure that our ministry represents an aptitude and commitment to biblical teaching (2 Timothy 2:24).

Bible Study — Rooted in the Word

Every week, our Bible Study gatherings invite participants to dive into Scripture with openness, curiosity, and conviction. Together, we explore biblical texts in their historical, theological, and practical dimensions—discovering how God’s Word speaks to our present realities.
Each session includes prayer, group reflection, and practical application designed to help us live out our faith beyond Sunday morning.

Whether you’re new to the Bible or seasoned in study, our community welcomes you to grow in understanding and fellowship.

New Membership Class — Becoming Part of The Avenue Family

Joining The Avenue means joining a story that is more than a century in the making—a story of faith, resilience, and community. Our New Membership Class introduces participants to the mission, history, and heart of The Avenue, guiding them toward a meaningful connection with God and the church family.
In this class, new members learn about:
The Avenue’s history and vision
Our core beliefs and Baptist heritage
Spiritual gifts and opportunities for service
The importance of fellowship and accountability
Each new member is invited to grow, serve, and lead within the life of the church—embracing the call to be both a disciple and a difference-maker.
